Lunar New Year celebration
On February 28, 2026, Ginkgo Youth Association participated in the Lunar New Year celebration at the Richmond Brighouse Library, where various community organizations hosted cultural activities for the public.
During the event, we organized Chinese and English lantern riddles, a traditional Lunar New Year game that encourages both language learning and cultural understanding. Participants of all ages enthusiastically joined in solving the riddles, and the activity received an overwhelmingly positive response from the community.
In addition to the riddles, the event also featured Chinese paper-cutting and calligraphy writing of the character “福” (Fu, meaning good fortune and blessings). These hands-on activities allowed children and families to experience traditional Chinese arts and learn about the cultural meaning behind Lunar New Year symbols.

Summer Reading Club Kick-Off
Our youth volunteers proudly supported the Richmond Public Library Summer Reading Club Kick-Off Event by leading interactive games, assisting with bookmark-making activities, and creating a fun and welcoming experience for children and families.
The event welcomed more than 300 participants, and our activity station remained busy throughout the afternoon, with children enthusiastically participating in the games and crafts. The Richmond Public Library recognized our volunteers’ dedication and positive impact, making the event a rewarding experience for both the community and our youth team.
